WHAT IS A REALTOR? WHAT IS AN AGENT?

An Agent is NOT necessarily a Realtor®. An Agent is a person who is licensed by the state to sell or list property in which he/she works. Once you have received your license as an Agent, you are eligible to join their local association of realtors. Now you are a Realtor®. 

Our Realtors® comply with the National Association of Realtors code of ethics. Why is this important to you? This can effect you either as the “buyer” or “seller” directly as much as indirectly through communication skills, timeliness of presentation, correct filing procedures, etc. Being a member of the National Association of Realtors and the local Houston Association of Realtors also gives us access to MLS (Multiple Listing Service).
